Follistatin, also known as activin-bindings protein, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FST gene. Follistatin is an autocrine glycoprotein that has emerged as a powerful antagonist of myostatin that can increase muscle mass and strength. Follistatin (FS) is an important regulator of pituitary FSH secretion through its potent ability to bind. Follistatin proves that lean muscle growth happens through inhibition of certain hormones & precise androgen-binding proteins.
